Haflidi Ragnarsson Iceland
Haflidi Ragnarsson graduated as a baker from Mosfellsbakarí in Iceland. He was head of the Konditori at Svalegardens Bageri & Konditori in Roskilde, Denmark. In 1997, he joined the family bakery business, a well known bakery, confectionery and chocolate shop in Iceland. In 2012, the shop will celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Some of his notable achievements include:
1995, Icelandic Champion in Cake Decorations.
1996, won second place in the Konditori Competition, Sweden.
1996, won second place at the Icelandic Champion in Cake
Decorations.
1997, Champion in Sugar Decorations in Bella Center, Copenhagen,
Denmark.
1997, Champion in Chocolate Making in Bella Center, Copenhagen,
Denmark.
1998, Icelandic Champion in Cake Decorations.
1998, won bronze medal in the World Champion for the best
showpiece, Luxemburg.
1998, participated as a Pastry Chef along with the Icelandic team
of Master Chefs at the World Championship, Luxemburg
2002, Icelandic Champion in Cake Decorations
2002, won gold and silver trophies with the Icelandic team of
Master Chefs at the World Championship, Luxemburg
2002, won the pre-selection at the ‘’Belgian Chocolate Award’,
Denmark
2003, qualified to participate at the European competition in
Brussels
Obtained title of “Belgian Chocolate Ambassador”
2003, won 1st Place for best “Dessert” at the Belgian Chocolate
Award
2003, won 1st Place for best “Pastry” at the Belgian Chocolate
Award.
2003, won 2nd Place at the Belgian Chocolate award.
2004, Pastry Chef in the Icelandic team of Master Chefs at the
Culinary Olympics, Efurt
Won 3 Silver medals and won 9th place for the “most prominent teams
in the world.”
In addition Haflidi has taught in various Konditori and
cake making course with renowned pastry chefs from France, Belgium
and America.
