The competition: Sponsors
Nineteen contestants, each producing six elaborate chocolate creations, in a three-day competition evaluated by 21 master-chef jury members. And ONE BIG THANK YOU to our many sponsors!
Bragard will
supply the distinctive tall chef’s hats, or toques, the symbol of
top-level gastronomy, and Jackets to be worn by the contestants,
the jury members and our technical advisors, each embroidered with
a representative flag of their country, their name and title.
Selmi,
Italy’s leading chocolate machine manufacturer will provide their
sophisticated automatic chocolate tempering machines for the
contestants’ use in preparing their chocolate creations. Selmi will
award an Automatic Tempering Machine to the winner of the World
Chocolate Masters title.
Prefamac, the leading Belgian chocolate machine manufacturer, will contribute 10 table top melting machines and one guitar cutter, plus a compact moulding machine for the winners in first, second and third place.
The elaborate moulds that the contestants will use to make their
pralines will come from Chocolate World, with an
opportunity for the winner to have their own personally designed
mould. The winner for the most voted showpiece online will receive
a 500 euros voucher to spend with Chocolate World.
Irinox,
the specialist Italian maker of blast chillers/shock freezers and
holding cabinets, will provide the equipment for contestants to
blast chill and maintain the chocolate as they assemble their
showpieces.The winner for the best Aztec showpiece will have the
chance to win his very own mini blast chiller/shock freezer, the
new “Fresco”. A device that was
once only available for restaurant chefs will now be available for
you to use in your own home.
For grinding and mixing their ingredients, contestants will use
high-speed equipment supplied by Kitchen Aid.
The first, second and third place winners will have the chance to
receive their own personal Kitchen Aid machine.
Robot Coupe, manufacturer
of food preparation equipment, will award the winning candidates
with Robot Coupe sophisticated food processor machines.
Thermohauser, leading provider of baking equipment will award each of the candidates with a kit of utensils and tools for the making of pastries.
Miwe of Germany
will provide its sophisticated ovens for contestants to bake their
chocolate pastries and desserts.
The contestants’ creations will be tasted from beautiful plates
designed by Villeroy
& Boch. The winners for first, second and third place will
each receive a beautiful Villeroy & Boch table set. Villeroy
& Boch will award the winner of the Best Dessert with a special
and beautifully golden engraved Villeroy & Boch plate and an
elegant Villeroy & Boch designed table set at a value of 1000
euros.
Chocapak, leading packaging company for chocolate and pastry, designed the packageing for the chocolate tasting competition where the public will need to taste and guess which chocolate matches with the right Barry Callebaut brand.
The catering during the proclamation will be prepared by the students from the renowned culinary school,Elishout, based in Belgium.
The Gala Dinner to celebrate the Final will be held at
Lenôtre’s
prestigious Pré Catelan
restaurant in the Bois de Boulogne. The winner of the Best Pastry
prize will have the opportunity to take a five-day course at the
Lenôtre culinary training school.
Toasts will be drunk with Pommery champagne and participants
will enjoy Latin American cocktails created by the cocktail masters
of Olmeca tequila
