Japanese pre-selection for World Chocolate Masters 2011 was held on Saturday, 4th. December at Ecole de Patisserie de Tokyo and Mr. Yoshiaki Uezaki won this year as “Japan Chocolate Master 2010-2011”.

Following the tremendous result of former winners Mr. Mizuno (World Chocolate Master 2007), Mr. Hirai (World Chocolate Master 2009), Mr. Uezaki is going to make his new challenge for the 3rd World Chocolate Master in Japan.
At the competition day, contestants had to create 5 different assignments (Showpiece, Dipped praline, Molded Praline, Chocolate Pastry, Mystery box) within 5 hours.
Even though this years theme “Cocoa, Quetzalcoatol’s Gift” is not very familiar theme for Japanese people, all contestants got to achieve to express the world of the theme on their own unique ways.


This Japan pre selection is co-organized by The Federation of Japan Confectionery Associations and Barry Callebaut Japan, supported by J. Maeda, Nichifutsu Shoji, Daiwa international, Sojitz Foods Corporation.
