Erick Chen currently works at The Westin Taipei as Executive Pastry Chef. With strong aspirations to become a Pastry Chef, Erick Chen knew that it was essential to attain a culinary achievement in order for his career to take off. From 1998 to 2010, Erik took part in many international competitions where he won various titles and medals. He won Gold medal at the FHA (bread segment) in 1998 and at the FHA Pattits Fours Brass in 2002, he won the World Pastry Cup competition at Las Vegas in 2004, and Instructor of 2009 International Bread Masters competition.In 2001 he published his own book titled « French Cake Book ».

 

As a coach for the Taiwanese contestant, Chi Hsien Cheng, Erick Chen organises intensive training programmes for the contestant. This involves brainstorming ideas for the creation of the recipes, researching creative ideas within the themes, and of course develping and training Chi Hsien's technical skills.
