LEGEND

This artistic figure shows the four essential elements of the 2011 World Chocolate Masters legend. We can perceive the elasticity, fragility and movement: an Aztec warrior with a bow and arrow, hand-moulded, and decorated with a quetzal feather headdress, only reserved for the tribal kings. The hands represent those of the murdered princess receiving a gift for her loyalty up until her death. A figure of Quetzalcoatl descends to offer the cocoa to the princess, the real protagonist of our story. The composition transmits movement, life, balance and difficulty to maintain it upright. Some sculpture techniques like modelling, carving, shining on acetate, matt, silicone moulds or counter moulds have been applied. The main figure has been made out of clay obtaining silicone moulds and plaster counter moulds. Regarding the hands, I used an innovative technique that records all human body movements.
