Jana Ristau is „German Chocolate Master 2010“
The german preselections for the „World Chocolate Master 2011“ took place on November 13th- 14th at the fair “Haus & Wohnen” in Cologne. In a nerve-wracking competition, Jana Ristau succeeded to prevail over her seven contestants and won the title of the “German Chocolate Master 2010”.
In the fourth „German Chocolate Master“ competition eight
chocolate artists had the chance to prove themselves by completing
the challenges of the competition. In a tightly set schedule the
candidates had to create pralines, a showpiece, a chocolate
cake, a chocolate dessert, and a mystery task which was
unknown until the beginning of the second competition day. The
winner is given the honour to participate in the final „World
Chocolate Master“, and compete against 19 other national winners.
In the overall standings, Jana Ristau, confectioner at
„törtchen törtchen“ in Cologne, was able to solve the five
challenges in the best way and convince the jury of her technical
skills. At the same time she also won the challenge for the best
showpiece with her impressive creation of the aztec god
Quetzalcoatl and the cocoabean.
The second place went to Carolin Fahrbach from the
bakery and confectionery Härdtner in Neckarsulm closely followed by
Lisa Rabe from confectionery de Prie in
Rostock.
On the foregoing two days the promising young talents from the
confectionery school in Köln had their chance to prove their
skills. Lisa Namyslo and Stefan Osterrath won the title of
the “Junior Chocolate Master 2010”.
