The best chocolatiers in Switzerland gathered at the annual Swiss Bakery and Confectionery Goods Fair FBK in Bern on February 23 and 24, 2011 to compete for the title of “Swiss Chocolate Master 2011."
Claudia Schmid won the title of “Swiss Chocolate Master 2011.”As the newly crowned “Swiss Chocolate Master,” Claudia Schmid qualified for a coveted ticket to the Salon du Chocolat competition in Paris. This event in October 2011 will determine who can claim this year’s title of “World Chocolate Master.”
The 33 year-old confectioner and pastry chef Claudia Schmid has worked for Confiserie Sprüngli in production for more than a decade and is head of its ice cream department.
The finals of the “Swiss Chocolate Masters 2011” were organized by Barry Callebaut Schweiz AG under the auspices of the Swiss association of confectionery professionals. Highly regarded companies such as Les vergers Boiron, Grand Marnier, Bragard, Hochdorf, Hostettler, Pago and Glanzmann also helped to sponsor the event.
