Jurgen Koens studied at the Hotel school in Middelburg, RIVB
Eindhoven section Chocolaterie, and PIVA in Antwerp. He began his
apprenticeship working as a Pastry Chef & Sous Chef at the two
star Michelin restaurants called Manior Inter Scaldes and worked
for Lenôtre in France. Today he works at Maison van den Boer.
Jurgen is very familiar with competitions, both as a contestant and
a jury member.
Some of his notable achievements include:
2008, won two gold and silver medals, member of the Dutch Cooking
Team at the culinary Olympics, Köche, Erfurt
2009, winner TT at the Assen ornamental culinary class
2009, as part of the Dutch cooking Team won gold medal and
announced winner of the Asian Culinary Cup in Bangkok
